Summer Everyday Face of the Day

I don't wear makeup every single day, but when I do I like to keep it simple and do something that is quick and easy to.

To start off I use the L'Oreal Blur Cream to prime my face.

I use one thin layer of my EX1 Foundation to even out my skin tone, and I use this with the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge. I did a review of this foundation which you can check out.

I then use this Maybelline Concealer to go over any imperfections and my under eyes.

Since I have an oily T Zone I have to powder this area lightly to make my base more long lasting, I do this with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

To bronze up I use this Bourjois Chocolate bronzer on my cheeks.

For eyeshadow I use Honeycomb (4th on the top row) from the Sleek Au Natural Palette all over the lid, the Bourjois Bronzer lightly in the crease and the brown colour in the Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 Palette which is the 5th colour in the outer corner to add dimension to the eye.

I use about two coats of mascara and the one I'm using at the moment is the Rimmel Wonderful Mascara.

I add the Makeup Revolution highlighter to tie the look together and add a bit of shimmer to make it look more summery.

To set everything in place I use the Smashbox Water Primer which gives an amazing finish!

To finish up I use the Max Factor lip liner all over my lips. You can check out my favourite lip combinations in an earlier post I did.

That's my current everyday makeup, hope you've enjoyed!

Days Out: Sky Garden

Up on the 35th floor of the Walkie - Talkie building is a heavenly place which you wouldn't think existed in this edifice of the corporate world.

Myself and a couple of friends decided to hop onto the bus and take a trip to Sky Garden, which has a 360 view of London stretching out to as far as you can see. Booking tickets is free and you just need photo ID to enter.

There is an indoor area with lots of greenery and places to sit and look out into London as well as the outdoor balcony if you want a closer look.

It's very windy but also very calm and I could have seriously stared at it all day - who would have thought looking out into London would be so peaceful?!

I highly recommend visiting Sky Garden and I would definitely go again, hope you've enjoyed.

Collective haul

I've been collecting a few makeup bits over the past couple of months from many shopping trips and I thought I would share the products that I have bought.
DIORSKIN STAR Foundation in the colour 40, Boots £32.50
The first thing I bought, I didn't even plan on buying, myself and my friend were browsing the different makeup counters at John Lewis and decided to get colour matched at the Dior counter for the Diorskin Star Foundation.

Shout out to the lovely lady who was so nice that we decided we just had to have the foundation there and then. Unfortunately they didn't have the shade we got matched for so we ended up going all the way to the Boots store in Liverpool Street Station to get it. (The things we do for makeup).
Victoria's Secret perfume in Pure Seduction, £13
Getting a new perfume has always been on my list but I never got round to it so when I discovered Victoria's Secret has an offer on their mists for 3 for £24 or 5 for £30, myself and 2 of my friends decided to take advantage of it.
L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream in Medium - Dark, Boots £9.99 and True Match Foundation in N7, Boots £9.99
I was in Boots and they had an offer on all L'Oreal  products so I picked up the Blur Cream and True Match foundation.
Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm, Boots £5.99
Whilst in boots I also saw that the Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm was on sale for half price which Aisling from DramaticMac was talking about so I thought I would pick that up. (You can check out her blog at dramaticmac.com)

La Roche - Posay Effeclar Duo £15.50
This is what I originally went to pick up in Boots and I will be reviewing this product very soon.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, Superdrug £4.99

I also got this Maybelline Colour Tattoo to try out.
Mac Lip liner in Soar, £12.50
I got this much sought after lip liner as a gift (thanks to my best friend) andI thought I would add this in to the haul.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Spiced Sand, £30

I have been trying out samples for a long time and decided to take the plunge and order this foundation which I am already in love with!

I will be reviewing some of the products after I have used them for a while and see what I think of them.

Hope you've enjoyed.

My Everyday Go To Lip Colours

I have always gone for nude and muted pink colours on my lips for everyday wear so you can imagine my delight when the whole Kylie Jenner lip colour trend came about. Those colours just match my skin tone really well and so they have always been the colours that I reach for. The following products are some of my favourites to grab on an everyday basis.
Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in Brown n Nude, £4.99 Boots

This Max Factor lip liner is matte but is not at all drying on the lips. It has a slight peachy undertone and so goes well with my warm toned skin.
Rimmel London Colour Rush Balm in Drive Me Nude, £5.99 Boots

Swatch with the Rimmel Balm on top of the Max factor Lip Liner

If I want to add a slight pink tinge to this colour I add this Rimmel balm on top. This is very pigmented and smells amazing.
Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Oil Spice, £2.99 Boots

This lip liner is slightly darker and is more brown with a slight reddish/ brick coloured undertone to it which I also really like for a darker lip.
Sleek Matte Me Lip Gloss in Birthday Suit, £4.99 Boots

This is a lip lacquer and is one of my favourite pinks ever! It's the perfect muted pinky nude colour and I usually wear it on its own. It's slightly drying on the lips so I have to make sure that  my I apply a lip balm and let it be absorbed beforehand but I particularly line the wand on this.

Those are the products I have been loving  on my lips recently and I hope you've enjoyed!

Favourite Foundation: EX1 Invisiwear Review

After hearing many good things about the EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation, I decided to go ahead and purchase it and I have to say I am IN LOVE with it.  It has fast become my everyday go to foundation and I seriously don't know what I was doing with my life before it! I bought it on the Look Fantastic website, where it is normally priced £12.50 (but they have tonnes of discount codes everyday). It is also available on the HQ Hair website and Beauty Expert website and the addresses of the stores that sell it can be found on http://www.ex1cosmetics.com/stockists.
This foundation is aimed for more warm toned people and they have it in 5 different shades. The EX1 website has a colour chart where it cross references each shade to the MAC Studio Fix Fluid shades, which is very useful. These are the following:

F100 - NC25
F200 - NC30 - 35
F300 - NC37 - 40
F400 - NC42
F500 - NC45

I bought it in the shade F300 and the colour is very accurate and matches my skin very well. The foundation itself is described as "lightweight and sheer" and "provides medium to full coverage". It has "light diffusing particles to detract attention away from lines and imperfections" and is also oil free which is definitely a plus.

Application, Coverage and Finish
To apply I use a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and I use about a pump of the foundation for everyday use. It blends in very well into the skin and with one pump it gives around about medium coverage, and I sometimes go in with another half a pump for problem areas.

The foundation feels very weightless on the skin and would be good for a "no makeup makeup" look as it is light and feels like I'm not wearing anything on my skin when I have this on. It is not runny but not too thick so I guess it can be built up to a full coverage and not be cakey (I've never tried this).

It has a satin finish to it so is not at all matte and not the most dewy and so looks very natural when applied. I always have to powder my face a little, especially my nose and forehead as it is oily but I would suspect that those with dry or normal skin who don't like the matte look would not need to. I've worn it for up to 9 hours and it has lasted on my skin with only a little shine coming through on my nose, but otherwise the staying power is very good.

Packaging
The foundation has one of those pumps that the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation has and as it is used the product goes upwards as opposed to the traditional downwards. This means that none of the foundation is wasted and you can use every last drop!

The only downside to the packaging is that the actual pump gets stuck for a few seconds when I get some foundation out and then pops back up. I don't know if this is just mine or if it's because of the material used but it eventually clicks back into place.

I am overall really impressed with the EX1 foundation and highly recommend it. I hope you've enjoyed and let me know in the comments if any of you have tried it or any other products from the EX1 brand.

Quick and Easy Eye Makeup

I'm still learning when it comes to applying eyeshadow and I've found that I really like putting warm tones, bronzey colours and purples on my eyes. I recently had my Sixth Form graduation party and after playing around with different colours the following is what I came up with! It's really easy to create and I will be definitely wearing it again. (Special thanks to my sister who let me use her eye for the eyeshadow.)
I used these two palettes and the MUA eye primer to create this look, all of which are all available from Superdrug.
MUA Eye Primer £1.50

To prime the eyelids I used the MUA primer all over the lids so that the eyeshadow will have something to hold onto and make it more long lasting.
Makeup Revolution Iconic 2 palette £4

I first used a mauvey brown colour on the crease and all over the lids using a round fluffy brush from the Iconic 2 palette.
MUA Undress Me Too palette £4

I then used this golden colour on the lid which looks very shimmery when on the eyes. (For day time looks I would go for something less shimmery and a more bronzey colour).

I wanted to add a darker colour to the outer corner so I mixed these two colours and lightly placed it onto the outer V. Obviously I would add mascara and eyeliner to complete the look :)

I would also play around with the different steps e.g. for a night time look I would increase the intensity of the colour on the outer V and smoke it out more or for a brighter party appropriate look I would add more of the golden shimmery colour.

Hope you enjoyed!
