Summer Favourites

Summer 2015 is finally here! And what a wait it's been. Exam season is over and I thought that my first post should be about what I've been loving so far this summer of freedom...

Primark, £15

A white dress can be dressed up or down for any occasion and goes with a lot of things. Chuck on a denim jacket or cute cardigan and a belt with some sandals and you're good to go. This one is creamy white and is floor length.

Statement necklaces are a must for me and add a little extra something to any outfit, this one was a gift from a friend and I love how it reflects the light to give different shades of grey/silver.

A clutch bag, sunglasses and peep toe shoes are my go - to whenever I leave the house. 

MUA nail polishes - Superdrug £1 each

I've been loving both bright and pastel colours on my nails. These MUA ones don't chip quickly, and I usually use two coats to get the best colour. 

Rimmel Stay Matte Poweder in Translucent £3.99, Bourjois Delice de Poudre bronzing powder in 51 £7.99

Powder is essential to ensure base makeup is long lasting, especially in the heat, and I've been using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder which doesn't change the colour of my foundation and keeps everything in place.  

Having a bronzy glow makes my skin look more healthy, and the Bourjois bronzer is matte and very buildable so can be used all over the face with a light hand to make the skin look a little more tanned.

Kiko Sunproof BB cream SPF30 in 03 medium £8.90

I prefer using BB cream on hotter days as it feels lighter on the skin. The Kiko Sunproof BB cream is light to medium coverage and is buildable without feeling too cakey. 

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish Lipstick in 05 and 20, £5.49 each

Pink lips are definitely one of my favourites in the summer. These are two of my favourites; 05 for more soft day time looks and 20 for when I want more dramatic lips. The Kate Moss lipsticks for Rimmel are very pigmented and are somewhere between a satin and matte finish. 

Eleanor and Park and Fangirl (Rainbow Rowell)

Lounging around in the sun with a good book is something I haven't done in a while. I recently picked these up from the library, both by author Rainbow Rowell, which were recommended to me as essential summer reads. Excited to find out what happens!
